Joel Cox Leaves Pakistan after Case of illegal arms Dismissed

The US citizen was arrested for carrying bullets and knives in the luggage while boarding a plane at Karachi airport. He was already granted a bail.
According to media reports, a court judge has acquitted FBI agent Joel Cox who was detained after the security officials at the Karachi Airport found bullets and three knives in his luggage. The Malir Judicial Court ordered to dismiss the case registered against the US national Joel Cox for possessing illegal arms on Monday May 19, 2014.
Barrister Zahid, representing Joel Cox, argued that his client was legally allowed to carry weapons with him as he was on a special mission in Pakistan. He further said that misuse of the arms had not bee proved against his client.
Joel Cox’s lawyer also presented a letter from the US embassy in Pakistan affirming the special assignment of Joel Cox in Pakistan. The judge ordered the verification of the letter from the interior minister of Pakistan.
Joel Cox left for Dubai for Karachi after the dismissal of the case against him.
