Friday, May 23rd, 2014 9:24:36 by Ahmad MehdiFamous for making quality and top notch footballs, Sialkot once again became the centre of attention as the FIFA World Cup is coming closer. There are several star players who are going to be taking part in this event and now the ball which has been made by Pakistani people will be touched by the likes of Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Andres Iniesta and many others.
The tournament is expected to start by 12th of June and it is going to last until 13th of July 2014. This event takes place after every four years and Pakistan used to be the sole supplier to this event every year. However, this time Pakistan is getting the contract after 10 years because they were accused of child labour.
Now, however, things have changed. The administration at Sialkot has set up rules which state that they will not be employing anyone under the age of 15. Moreover, they had stringent policies against pollution as well.
The football which is being made in Sialkot is called Brazuca. Khwaja Hassan Masood, who is the company’s head of development, has claimed that Pakistan will be supplying more than 2 million Brazuca balls of different grades. He claims that Pakistan currently has a cheaper wage rate, and that takes them above China in terms of manufacturing.
