Italian Navy Rescued 435 immigrants, mostly children

Among the immigrants was posted to 264 children and 56 women. Immigrants, mostly from Syria and Egypt, have come this Saturday at the Sicilian town of Pozzallo, as reported by the Italian media.
An Italian Navy vessel Foscari located the boat, which were overcrowded and no lifejacket immigrants. Immigrants had left an undetermined point on the African coast. The Marina explained that the bailout was necessary because of the lack of safety equipment, overcrowding and the large number of children on board.
The Foscari patrol involved in the military operation Mare Nostrum announced by the Italian government after the death of hundreds of immigrants in the vicinity of the Italian coast.
