Wednesday, May 28th, 2014 8:23:21 by Nadeem Bajwawin, and we’re going to make sure that Afghanistan can never again, ever, be used again to launch an attack against our country,” said Obama.United States President Barack Obama has announced his plans to withdraw majority of US troops by end of year and keep only about 10,000 army personals by end of the year 2016.
“We have now been in Afghanistan longer than many Americans expected,” Obama said during an appearance in the White House Rose Garden. “Now we’re finishing the job we’ve started.”
American mission in Afghanistan will formally come to an end this year when only 98000 troops will remain in Afghanistan to train the Afghan security forces.
President Obama said, “We have to recognise Afghanistan will not be a perfect place.”
“And it is not America’s responsibility to make it one”, Obama further added. “The future of Afghanistan must be decided by Afghans.”
“After all the sacrifices we’ve made, we want to preserve the gains that you have helped to
win, and we’re going to make sure that Afghanistan can never again, ever, be used again to launch an attack against our country,” said Obama.
President Obama’s plan to end the combat mission in Afghanistan is criticized by Republicans who believe President is not ending rather losing the wars.
