Court Issues Non-bailable arrest warrants against Gilani and Faheem
Thursday, May 29th, 2014 4:29:58 by Nadeem BajwaA judge of anti-corruption court in Karachi has issued non-bailable arrest warrants against former Pakistani Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani and Senior Pakistan Peoples Party leader Makhdoom Amin Faheem for their failure to appear in court after repeated notices.
Gilani and Amin Faheem are wanted in a case relating to financial irregularities in the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) which was registered by Federal Investigation Agency.
Gilani and Faheem both ignored the notices issued by the anti-corruption court on three previous occasions. Court even issued bailable warrants which were also ignored.
The judge issued non-bailable warrants and adjourned the hearing to June 7.
The courrption cases were registered against Amin Faheem when he was Federal finance minister and Yusuf Raza Gilani was the prime minister of Pakistan.
