Kidnappers of Pakistani Parliamentarian Demand Rs50 Million in Ransom
Saturday, May 31st, 2014 9:09:11 by Nadeem BajwaKidnappers of a Pakistani member provincial assembly, Rana Jamil Hasan, has demanded a ransom of Rs 50 Million from the family. Hasan was abducted while he was traveling to Islamabad near Pindi Bhutian with his family.
According to media reports, the kidnappers blindfolded Rana Jamil Hasan and his wife and took them to an undisclosed location. The wife of Rana Jamil was, however, released by the kidnappers in Rawalpindi.
The kidnapper have threatened the family members with serious consequences if the ransom is not paid in two days time.
Police has initiated a investigation, however, it is still not clear who is behind the kidnapping of Rana Jamil Hasan.
Rana Jamil was elected member of the Provincial Assembly from the PP-174.
The kidnapped parliamentarian has political affiliation with the Pakistan Muslim League-N which is also the ruling party in the province of Punjab and at federal level.
