According to reports from Karachi, three people were killed and nearly ten injured due to an airplane crash in the city’s Baldia Town area.

The Pakistan Air Force has confirmed that the plane was a PAF fighter jet, which went down near a bus terminal in Karachi. The deceased in the crash include two pilots and a citizen while eight other people were also injured.

Witness reports indicate that the plane might have exploded mid-air, and the debris was spread in the surrounding areas. Footage recorded on the scene shows thick black smoke rising from the crash site along with fire.

Since the crash took place in a public location, people had gathered around after the tragedy.

Police reports also confirmed that two buses at the terminal were destroyed along with damage to the nearby buildings in the area.

Rescue teams arrived on scene as soon as possible, but the pilots had already passed away.

The crashed airplane has been described by witnesses as a small fighter jet, but the exact model and type is unconfirmed as yet.

The PAF is likely to carry out an investigation into the cause of the crash now.
