Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan has said that MQM protest in Pakistan is absolutely unjustified as the British government has taken a legal action against its own citizen in the United Kingdom and not in Pakistan. Imran Khan also urged government to ensure the safety of the citizens in Karachi and take necessary steps so that nobody bring the lives and businesses to a stand still.

Imran Khan suggested that MQM should stage the protest rallies in the United Kingdom as the MQM leader Altaf Hussain  was arrested there. He said that people of Pakistan should not be punished for the actions of London police department.

Khan said that Sindh government joining the MQM protest in Karachi was “a mockery of governance”.

The life in Karachi came to stand still by violent protests and businesses locked down as soon as the news of arrest of Altaf Hussain for money laundering charges broke in the country.

Pakistan prime minister Nawaz Sharif has also instructed the foreign office to provide possible support to safeguard the interests of Altaf Hussain who is in the UK since 1992 and enjoy British citizenship status received in 2002.
