Israel has replicated to the formation of the new Palestinian unity government, which includes the Islamist group Hamas, driven to new homes in West Bank settlements and east Jerusalem. “It’s the right response to Palestinian terrorist Zionist Executive”, Housing Minister, Uri Ariel, the far-right Jewish Home, a member of the Cabinet of Benjamin Netanyahu said in a statement.

A total of 3,300 units are accelerated. Both residences are included in ” intermediate phase” of approval (about 800) as households whose work can now be tendered (other 600) in a first group of 1,500. The latter were designed in 1985 and now run only after changes in the distribution of land. They can take years to be completed. A second batch of 1,800 houses that already have approval, so they can be constructed shortly.

They are part of the package that Israel planned to announce in March, alongside the fourth release of Palestinian prisoners from the group of 104 that promised to release in July 2013, when the peace process was resumed.

Three batches of prisoners released from prison, but Israel considered appropriate to release the last conditions are not met. Thus, Netanyahu did not feel forced to appease its allies more brick in occupied territory. With the peace process dead and twinned Palestinian factions, the order is thawed.

Israel has taken three days to respond to the new Palestinian Cabinet, which he threatened to ” severe retaliation “. A Hamas, which has hitherto controlled the impoverished Gaza Strip, consider terrorist group by U.S. and the EU. Its members deny Israel’s right to exist.

The Minister Ariel explained that this reaction “is just the beginning.” “When spit on Israel, something must be done “, he remarked on Israel Radio. He also insisted that all new homes are located in areas that his government wants to keep in any future peace deal. UN estimates exceeding 550,000 settlers live on land today internationally recognized as occupied and  3,300 additional homes could add another 15,000 residents.

Israel has demolished more than 500 Palestinian homes with the displacement of about 900 neighbors during the past one year.

Saeb Erekat, the Palestinian chief negotiator, denounced his opponents statement ” to a major escalation ” on settlement construction.  For now, the U.S. ambassador to Israel, Dan Shapiro, recalled that Washington “opposes building more settlements and extensions.”
