Security Forces Killed All 10 Terrorists Who Attacked Karachi Airport

Pakistan security forces have killed all ten terrorists who attacked Pakistan’s busiest Jinnah International airport in Karachi early Sunday night. The deadly terrorist attack left 10 security personals and three civilian deaths.
Pakistan army, Rangers, Airport Security Forces and Police jointly carried out the operation against the terrorists who entered the old terminal of Karachi airport using fake identifications carrying heavy bags of ammunition and weapons.
One of the terrorists detonated the suicide vest killing one police officer with him.
Major Gen. Asim Bajawa said in a tweet that airport area is cleared. There is no damage to the aircraft. Fire visible in pictures was not a place but a building. Fire is now extinguished.
DG ISPR also said, “Army Chief Gen Raheel Sharif paid rich tribute to all shaheed and injured for their supreme sacrifice.”
Earlier DG ISPR Major Gen. Asim Bajwa tweeted on Twitter that six terrorists have been killed while law enforcers continue to battle with the remaining 3 to 4 terrorists. There is no report of hijacking of any plane and all the passengers on the airport are safe.
Director General Rangers has said that Indian made ammunition was recovered from the terrorists’ dead bodies. One terrorist blew himself injuring one security force personal.
Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has directed to ensure the safety of all the passenger present at airport.
Armed attackers have reportedly entered the old terminal of Karachi airport early Sunday night using fake identifications and threw hand grenades resulting in the deaths of 7 airport security forces personals. Two civlians and one police officer also lost their lives during the attack. The exchange of firing between the security forces and gunmen also killed two attackers. Initial reports suggest that 8-10 gunmen were engaged in the attack.
Police and Rangers have cordoned the area and closed all the roads going towards Jinnah Airport. All the flight operations on the terminal have been suspended.
According to eye witnesses, smoke clouds from the terminals could be observed from far. The front of one airplane on the terminal caught fire and smoke is coming from there.
A Senior Superintendent of Police have confirmed the presence of four armed attackers in the airport area. The airport staff is being moved to safe areas by security forces.
All flights destined to Karachi have been diverted to Nawabshah airport. Security measures on all the airports have been tightened.
Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has ordered an inquiry into the attack.
Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah arrived at the airport after the reports of attack.
