Monday, June 9th, 2014 8:09:22 by Khalil KhanPakistan Tehree-e-Insaf (PTI) has condemned terrorist attack on the Karachi airport and called it total security and intelligence failure. PTI also condemned Pakistan Tehreek-e-Taliban (PTT) for carrying out the terrorist attack that killed at least 19 people.
Shireen Mazari said in a statement that PTI core committee had met in the chairmanship of Imran Khan to condemn government’s failure to protect its citizen and terrorist attacks on the Karachi airport.
“The government has failed in its basic duty not only to protect its citizens, but also strategic installations like airports”, the statement said.
“In any functioning democracy the government would be held accountable by Parliament for such severe security lapses at strategic installations and repeated inability to protect those of its citizens whom it knows are being singled out for targeted attacks,” the Core Committee asserted.
“It is time for the government to admit its total failure in governance of which the first requirement is protecting the lives of its citizens followed by securing its sensitive installations like airports which are the gateway to the country,” the Core Committee concluded.
In two separate terrorists attack at least 45 people died. 24 people died in Taftan near the Pakistan and Iran border area when 3-4 masked armed men opened fire and hurled hand grenade at two hotels where shia pilgrims had just arrived in 10 buses.
20 people died in the terrorist attack on Karachi airport for which PTT has claimed the responsibility.
