Baloch Leader Khair Bakhsh Marri Died in Karachi
Wednesday, June 11th, 2014 12:26:59 by Nadeem BajwaNawab Khair Bakhsh Marri, Baloch politician, has died in Karachi on June 10, 2014. He was admitted to to the Karachi’s Liaquat National Hospital in critical condition for last four days.
He was in comma for last few days. He will be buried in Balochistan in the morning. The timing and location is not fixed by the family members yet.
Born on February 28, 1928 and considered a hardliner, Nawab Khair Baksh Marri was one of the key leaders of the 1970s insurgency of Balochistan. For the past many years, he had dissociated himself from practical politics, but for many radical Baloch nationalists he remains an icon.
Nawab Marri’s eldest son, Nawab Balach Marri was killed in 2007 reportedly in a missile strike inside Afghanistan. Another of his sons, Nawab Hyrbyiar Marri, is in United Kingdom under the asylum and controls a small violent faction of Baloch insurgents accused of carrying out terrorists attacks in Pakistan.
Nawabzada Changez Khan Marri was elected to the Provincial Assembly of Balochistan as a member of Pakistan Muslim League (N) in Pakistani general election, 2013.
