President of Portugal faints during a speech

He had to be removed from the podium, however, he finally managed to return to finish his speech in Guarda.
The fainting suffered by the Conservative leader, 74, has been in the middle of his speech, when he was momentarily speechless and had to be helped immediately by several colleagues not to fall to the ground. While the president was being followed, the chief of staff of the Armed Forces, Arturo Pina Monteiro Neves, announced that Cavaco Silva had become ill and would return soon to finish his speech. He has also criticized a group of protesters who had called the head of state intervention and shouted slogans against the Executive, which called for ” respect for Portugal and the Armed Forces.”
Cavaco Silva has received medical care in the same place for about twenty minutes, during which time the ceremony was suspended until he has managed to recover and resume his speech at the same point where I left off.
Lusos Speaking to state media, the military doctor who treated him said that ” at no time did the president lost consciousness ” and has attributed the incident to a ” vagal reaction ” medical term that refers to the vagus nerve, which acts on heart rate. Cavaco Silva has seen all subsequent military parade sitting by the Prime Minister, Pedro Passos Coelho. The official celebrations for the Day of Portugal were held in the Portuguese town of Guarda and during the intervention of President cries of protest against the Government were heard.
