Member Pakistan national assembly Tahira Asif critically injured by gun shot

Member national assembly, Tahira Asif, was shot by two unidentified men on motorcycles in Lahore. She was coming out of her house along with her daughter to go to Islamabad from Lahore, when two gunmen on a motorcycle opened gun fire on them. Tahira Asif was shot in the back and stomach. The attackers were able to escape. Tahira’s daughter took her mother to  Sheikh Zayed hospital where she is receiving medical treatment.

Deputy Convener MQM Rabita Committee, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, condemned the attack on Tahira Asif and said that according to preliminary information she was targeted and hospitalized in critical condition where treatment is continued. He appealed to the whole nation to pray for her recovery. He demanded that the government take strict action against the attackers.

Police say that Tahira Asif was shot when she resisted a robbery. She was shot and severely injured. Police has registered a case ans investigation has been launched.

Asifa’s daughter told reporters that the attackers asked her name before opening firing on her.
