Israel search for three kidnapped

Palestinians in Hebron on Tuesday observed no noteworthy developments as many units of the Israeli Army paratroopers patrol the West Bank. It was the fourth day of the search for three young Jews kidnapped on Thursday night in the West Bank while returning from religious schools in an Israeli colony.

Israel has blocked access to the region. With around 750,000 inhabitants, the Hebron area is the economic center of the Palestinian territories, now drowned by an operation that, in addition to the release of the three boys, aged 16 and 19 years, looking for damage as possible to the Islamist Palestinian Hamas, which Army sources attribute the kidnapping ” with 100 % certainty.”

The operation is already one of the largest Israeli military deployments in the West Bank over the past 10 years. The Army announced yesterday that it had arrested 41 people overnight in Hebron and Nablus region, north of Jerusalem. They joined more than 150 detainees on Friday, most of them in Hebron.

Some groups of human rights, such as the Christian Peacemaker Teams, followed the soldiers and systematically documented their activities. One activist explained that the actions of the military “suggests confusion, does not seem to have clear tracks of boys, because they look at every house and cave to cave.”

Army sources admit that the goal is “to weaken Hamas’  in West Bank. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu blamed the kidnapping the brand new Palestinian unity government. The president of the Palestinian National Authority, Mahmoud Abbas, seeks to leave behind seven years of division between Hamas, whose political arm controls the Gaza Strip, and his own Fatah party government in the West Bank. Abbas has condemned the kidnapping and Hamas has denied kidnapping.

Hebron is about 20 kilometers south of the junction of Gush Etzion, where Jewish boys disappeared Thursday and is considered the main stronghold of Hamas outside Gaza. This explains that the Army has concentrated his efforts there in this crisis. But life in the main city of the second Palestinian West Bank and Gaza after is always a distillation of the conditions of military occupation and colonization policy applies to Israel.

The city is divided into two administrative areas: H1 under Palestinian civil administration; H2, controlled by Israel. Shuhada Street, the entrance was filled with cobblestones yesterday released a few hours ago by Palestinian youths protesting the arrests, rises to the Jewish settlement in the heart of the city, where 600 Israelis live. No more than soldiers, flame sealed shops and some grumpy another settler.
