Emirates Airlines Not to Charge Pakistan
Tuesday, June 24th, 2014 3:14:38 by Ahmad MehdiChairman of Emirates Airlines and Director General of Civil Aviation Authority, Air Marshal Mohammad Yousaf spoke directly to the Emirates Airlines regarding their aircraft and how it was forced to stay at Lahore Airport on Monday.
The drama started with Molana Tahir Ul Qadri not being allowed to land on Islamabad International Airport. The Chief of Pakistan Awami Tehreek claimed that he is going to arrive in Islamabad in order to protest against the people who died in Model Town, Lahore, following a cross-fire with the police.
However, while the leader of Pakistani Awami Tehreek wanted to land in Islamabad, his plane was not allowed to and the flight was taken to Lahore. When the plane finally reached Lahore, Tahir Ul Qadri stated that he is not going to leave the plane unless he is given a secure passage, that too from the army.
He later settled for his own security with the media giving him full coverage throughout the way. The Punjab Governor escorted him throughout his journey, as he claimed that his life is in danger and if he is to die then the Punjab Governor should die with him.
Despite the whole incident, the Emirates Airlines have decided that they are not going to charge Pakistan even though they forced the plane to stay. However, it is being reported that Molana Qadri has been banned from flying on Emirates.
