FO denies Afghan allegations of Pakistan involvement in Kunar

The spokesperson Tasneem Aslam said that such allegations by Afghan officials would undermine peace efforts between the two countries .
Foreign Office spokesperson Tasneem Aslam said in a statement that it is a fact that terrorist attacks on theĀ armed forces of Pakistan from the Afghan areas. Pakistan Army has the right to retaliate in self defense but always showed restraint and responsibility. She said that Afghan government allegations that Pakistani soldiers are involved in attacks in the Kunar provinceĀ are unfounded and misleading.
Tasneem Aslam said that Pakistan supports friendly relations with the Afghan people. She further added that Pakistan expects the Afghan government to refrain from any action which would harm peace and stability along the border. Pakistan army is extensively engaged in an ongoing operation against terrorists and such unfounded allegations by Afghan Authorities would not only affect the environment but also the damage the peace efforts of the two neighboring countries.
The Afghan government had recently accused that Pakistan’s military personals are operating in plain clothes in the Afghan province of Kunar.
