Pakistan and India agree to play bilateral cricket series
Thursday, June 26th, 2014 10:22:50 by Shakira SubhaniPakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has said in a statement on June 26, 2014 that Pakistan and Indian cricket boards have signed agreement to play six bilateral cricket series during 2015 to 2023. PCB will also be the effective part of big four and receive major portion of International Cricket Council (ICC) revenue during the next 8 years. PCB chairman, Najam Sethi, said that PCB has accomplished all its objectives during the ICC meeting in Melbourne, Australia.
Pakistan Cricket Board issued a statement in which it announced that cricket teams of Pakistan and India will play six cricket series from 2015 to 2023. Two series will be played on the Indian soil, while remaining four will be played either in UAE or Pakistan.
Pakistan Cricket Board will now get the most of the share of ICC revenue after India, Australia and the United Kingdom over the period of next eight years. PCB has been granted the status of big four in the ICC meeting.
Najam Sethi, chairman PCB, said that PCB has achieved all its objectives during the ICC meeting. Najam Sethi further said that he is confident that what we have accomplished today will be very beneficial for cricket in Pakistan.
The Pakistani cricket team had last visited India in 2012-13 to play three one day matches and two T20 matches, whereas, India cricket team last played in Pakistan in 2008 during Asian Cup.
