Sethi Takes Pakistan into the Big Four
Friday, June 27th, 2014 6:02:04 by Ahmad MehdiIt was recently reported from Karachi that Pakistan have now entered the ‘big four’ of cricket around the world. This means that Pakistan Cricket Board will now have a major say in the affairs that are taking place in the world of cricket. At first, the world saw the emergence of the ‘big three’ who are Australia, India and England.
With Pakistan becoming a part of the big four, it means that they will now receive the most in terms of percentage of revenue after the Big Three. This profit will be made from ICC fixtures, broadcasting and other rights.
Pakistan recently signed an MOU with the Indian Cricket Board where both the parties have agreed that they will play at least 6 cricket series against each other.
Another big decision which went in the favour of the Pakistan Cricket Board is that the International Cricket Council has announced that the next president of the global body is going to be from Pakistan with effect from June 2015.
Najam Sethi came out in the open to explain what the Big Four proposal had to offer. He said, The PCB had organized itself and planned to get maximum advantage for Pakistan cricket from an extremely precarious position. We have accomplished all our objectives. And I am positive that in the times to come Pakistan Cricket shall greatly benefit from what PCB has been able to obtain for it today.”
