Good News from ICC for Pakistan
Monday, June 30th, 2014 3:02:02 by Ahmad MehdiIt was recently reported from Lahore that glad tidings are coming Pakistan’s way as ICC has given certain decisions in their favour. The former test spinner, Iqbal Qasim, has stated that these decisions are going to help Pakistani cricket in a lot of ways.
While addressing the press, Iqbal said, “The signing of the binding agreement between the PCB and the BCCI for holding six bilateral series during the 2015-2023 time period is a step in the right direction.”
He further added, “Pakistan has also been granted fourth position in the ICC after India, England and Australia — the ‘Big Three’ — a development which would help safeguards PCB’s interests.”
ICC first made the Big Three, namely Australia, England and India. However, in a recent meeting which was held in Melbourne, they decided to name the big four and five. Pakistan was named in the Big Four while West Indies was selected to be the fifth member.
Pakistan and India decided to sign a contract where the two teams have agreed to play 6 series together. However, the political ties between the two countries are going to decide the fate of these series and whether they will be played or not in the first place.
