Bouchard is the first Canadian woman to reach Wimbledon’s semifinals. She has reached semifanls of the first three grand slams in 2014, however, she lost the previous two, the Australian Open and French Open.

The semifinal had to be stopped twice – first by a left ankle injury to Halep, and then when a woman spectator fell ill during the tiebreaker.
Simona Halep may have affected by her ankle injury as she and looked down at her feet many times after playing her shots.
Petra Kvitova had defeated Bouchard in straight sets in Toronto the previous year.
