Israel orders troops to prepare for ground offensive in Gaza

Israel launches offensive against Palestine

Israel began early Tuesday in a military operation of large scale against the Gaza Strip, less than two years after the cease-fire after the bombing that caused almost 170 deaths in 2012.  Tuesday hit 50 targets in the Gaza three them from warships. According to Army sources, these rocket launchers, military buildings and infrastructure of the Islamist Hamas and the homes of four alleged militants in southern Gaza.

The Israeli army, which named the attack as Operation Margin Protector and enters a new phase of the recent hostilities with Hamas. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday ordered his troops to be prepared for a possible ground incursion.

Five Palestinians were killed, two of them are Hamas militants, and dozens have been injured in the bombings, according to the Israeli daily Haaretz.

The president of the Palestinian National Authority, Mahmoud Abbas, on Tuesday demanded the “immediate arrest of the attacks on Gaza.” Netanyahu, meanwhile, asked the soldiers to ” take off the gloves ” in combat with Hamas. Defense Minister Moshe Yaalon warned that the military operation “will not end in a matter of days.” The Israeli military has also highlighted two infantry brigades in the vicinity of the Strip.

Israel assures an operation against Hamas to stop rocket fire into southern territory. Only left Gaza on Monday 85 shells of different caliber and scope. Islamists, meanwhile, threatened to bomb tonight Tel Aviv and its vicinity with more sophisticated and powerful projectiles than those used so far. Authorities have ordered the inhabitants of the southern part of the country to stay near fire shelters. Hamas threatened to unleash an “earthquake ” in response to the attack, and announced the launch of new missiles.
