Wednesday, July 9th, 2014 2:02:26 by Nadeem BajwaPakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has requested Pakistan Election Commission this Wednesday to provide details of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif nomination papers in order to lodge a disqualification reference against him in violation of Article 62 and 63 of the Constitution of Pakistan.
PTI Members of National Assembly Murad Saeed and Ali Khan called on Secretary Election Commission Ishtiaq Ahmed Khan to submit a formal request to collect the copies of nomination documents of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in order to lodge a disqualification reference.
PTI MNAs said that Nawaz Sharif did not disclose his assets correctly and submitted wrong income tax details. Furthermore, Nawaz Sharif is no longer trustworthy and honest as stated in the Article 62 and thus is disqualified to become a parliamentarian under Article 63 of the Pakistan Constitution.
Article 62 of the Constitution defines the qualifications for becoming member of Parliament and Article 63 provides the details of disqualification for member of the Parliament.
Former Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry’s son Arsalan Iftikhar, had recently also contacted Election Commission of Pakistan to get the details of PTI chairman Imran Khan’s nomination documents. Arsalan argued that Imran Khan did not include name of his daughter on the nomination papers and thus disqualifies under Article 62 and 63 of the Constitution.
