U.S. and China strengthen military and counter-terrorism cooperation

This was reported by the Chinese State Councilor Yang Jiechi on Thursday at the end of the sixth annual round of talks between the two countries. The deal was done at a time of estrangement between the two countries, due to accusations of cyber espionage and mutual suspicions about intentions of both countries on the Asia – Pacific.
Both the United States and China, this meeting has become a tool to ease tensions that may affect diplomatic relations. During the two -day dialogue, States have stressed the need to deepen the relationship in areas of mutual interest, such as combating terrorism and climate change.
On Thursday, the Chinese delegate had already ruled on this issue: “Wherever it occurs, in any form, of any type or reason, the international community must take a stand and work light together to fight terrorism ” Jiechi said, according to Radio Free Asia (RFA).
The sixth annual round of talks was held in Beijing on Wednesday and Thursday. U.S. Secretaries of State, John Kerry, and the Treasury, Jacob Lew, led the meeting on behalf of the North American country. China attended by Foreign Minister Wang Yi, and the Minister of State, Yang Jiechi.
The last time Beijing hosted the talks (April 2012), alternating the venue between China and Washington capital, the dialogue was sidelined by the crisis generated by the Chen Guangcheng blind dissident, who on the eve of the arrival of the then secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, fled house arrest in his home was under Shandong and took refuge with a broken foot, at the U.S. Embassy in Beijing.
