Punjab CM orders arrest of MPA who counter raided police station
Tuesday, July 22nd, 2014 4:53:39 by Maleeha TareenPunjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has instructed police authorities to arrest Member Provincial Assembly Rana Shoaib Idrees who counter raided the police station to release one suspect allegedly involved in murder and robbery. Chief Minister has ordered the arrest after reviewing the inquiry report which indicated that Rana Idrees was himself present during the attack.
It is reported that Shahbaz Sharif ordered Faisalabad police to the detain a member Provincial Assembly Rana Shoaib Idrees belonging to the ruling party Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) who allegedly raided Khurrianwala Police Station in Faisalabad with armed supporters to free his henchman. His supporters also thrashed three on duty police men.
Police later arrested 10 of MPA supporters, however, did not include his name in the First Information Report (FIR). Instead of nominating Rana Idrees in the FIR, police has only used “political personality” without using MPA’s name. Police also claimed that CCTV cameras were not working at the time of attack, however, the CCTV footage is being played on number of local news channels.
According to media reports, it is not the first time Muslim League Nawaz MPA has thrashed policemen. He has previously been involved in such attack as well. He is also allegedly involved in a murder case.
This is a test case for Chief Minister Punjab who always talks about rule of law in the province. If the law makers are breaking the law then how government can expect to establish the law and order in the country.
According to media report, Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) is considering to ask Rana Shoaib Idrees to tender his resignation because of his alleged involvement in the attack on police station.

The name of the MPA was not mentioned in the FIR. I am sure nothing will happen to the honorable MPA. This country is meant for such people. Shahbaz Sharif cannot afford to lose them. Birds of a feather flock together. If there was a functioning system Showbaz has no business giving orders, pmnl have destroyed the system with there autocratic rule, police should have arrested the MPA in question instantly or at 1st given opportunity. The sooner this system is changed the better pakistan cannot prosper while status quo parties remain in power with a false mandate.
