Over 40 killed in a plane crash in Taiwan

Taiwanese media claim that it was a domestic flight. The authorities in the area, according to France Press, stated that 58 passengers with a crew of four were traveling aboard the TransAsia Airways flight. The plane has crashed near the Magong airport in the Penghu Islands in western Taiwan.
Aerial Taiwan authority feared 51 people dead in the crash and seven are wounded. However, local firefighters lower the casualty toll to 45. Eleven injured persons were shifted to the hospital for medical treatment.
The aircraft is a 70 seats twin-engine ATR-72 that took off at 17:00 from Kaohsiung airport and crashed two hours later while attempting to land during a thunderstorm, reports Europa Press.
