Miran Shah, Boya and Daygan cleared from militants: ISPR
Sunday, July 27th, 2014 9:31:19 by Jamshed SindhuPakistan Army has said that Miran Shah, Boya and Daygan in North Waziristan had been cleared from the militants completely whereas 70% of Mir Ali and surrounding areas were cleared during the operation Zarb-e-Azb. Two ammunition manufacturing factories were also seized.
Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) has said in a statement that Operation Zarb-e-Azb is continuing to achieve its targets by getting the area of Miran Shah, Boya and Daygan cleared from militants.
ISPR said that seventy per cent of the Mir Ali and surrounding areas are also cleared. Army is now conducing house to house search. Mir Ali was the second largest base of the militants in North Waziristan.
Pakistan Army seized two large weapons and ammunition manufacturing factories during the search operation. Army also recovered 30 barrels of explosive materials from underground tunnels and defused two 5000 kilogram land mines.
Over 500 militants have been killed during the ongoing operation Zarb-e-Azb in the North Waziristan tribal region.
