Mufti Popalzai did it again, Pakistani divided on Eid celebration
Monday, July 28th, 2014 9:35:17 by Nadeem BajwaIt should be day of unity and celebration among the Muslims. Mufti Popalzai did it once again his best to divide a nation. Mufti Popalzai of Qasim Mosque Peshawar announced sighting of moon in some parts of the Khyber Pakhtunkhawa and said Monday is the first day of Shawal. Half of Peshawar celebrated Eid ul Fiter today on Monday July 28, 2014 whereas rest of Muslims in the province were fasting.
Mufti Popalzai announced late Sunday night receiving 48 “credible” witnesses for sighting the moon in some parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhawa. He declared that Monday July 28, 2014 is the Eid ul Fiter.
Some residents of the Peshawer and Internally Displaced Persons in Bannu celebrated Eid. Majority of the Pakistanis in these area, however, kept their fasts.
This is not first time it has happened in Pakistan. On many previous occasions Mufti Popalzai take charge of the moon sighting and follow the foot steps of Saudi Arabia.
Pakistan government must collect all the information of those “credible witnesses” and then use it to determine using the mathematical algorithm if there was any scientific possiblity of sighting moon in those locations at the particular time. If those credible witnesses are proven wrong scientifically, then it may deter Mufti Popalzai to keep on dividing the nation.
The centeral Moon Sighting Committee will observe the moon of the month of Shawal today as it is 29th of Ramazan in Pakistan.
