Sri Lanka defeated Pakistan cricket team by 7 wickets
Sunday, August 10th, 2014 7:21:07 by Jamshed SindhuPakistan cricket team did it once again, a possible draw in the first test match against host Sri Lankan team ended in a defeat by 7 wickets on Sunday August 10, 2014. Pakistani team lost all the wickets for a total of 180 in the second inning on the last day of the Galle test match leaving a target of 99 runs for Sri Lanka to win in 21 overs. Sri Lankan team took the challenge and won the match after losing 3 wickets.
None of the Pakistan cricket player was able to face the bowling of Rangana Herath who bagged 6 wickets for 48 runs in the second inning. Pakistani team scored 451 in the first inning but were all out for only 180 in the second inning.
Sri Lankan batsman were under the constant pressure of bad light and weather while chasing target of 99 runs. Pakistani bowlers could not restrict the Sri Lankan batsman to achieve the target and lost the match just before the rain started to pour after losing wickets of only three players.
Second and last match of the current test series between the two teams will start on Thursday at the pitch of Sinhalese Sports Club in Colombo.
