PTI to carry on azadi march despite LHC restraining orders
Wednesday, August 13th, 2014 8:44:57 by Khalil KhanPakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Shireen Mazari has said regardless of the Lahore High Court’s order disallowing the long marches, her party will continue with the planned azadi march on August 14.
Lahore High Court has ruled on Wednesday August 13, 2014 that long marches of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Pakistan Awami Party are unconstitutional and are not allowed. PTI lawyer, however, maintained that long march was constitutional.
The Court’s short order stated that any march that causes anarchy or is unconstitutional is not allowed.
LHC decision states, “The respondents PTI and PAT are restrained meanwhile from launching the azadi march, inquilab march or holding a dharna at Islamabad in an unconstitutional way keeping in view the sanctity of independence day and the chaotic and uncertain situation prevailing in the country.”
Ahmed Owais, PTI lawyer, told reporters outside the court that Imran Khan’s azadi march was according to the constitution of Pakistan.
LHC dismissed the petition regarding the arrest of the Pakistan Awami Tehreek leader Dr. Tahirul Qadri.
Imran Khan and Dr. Tahirul Qadri had said that they will carry on the ‘azadi march’ and ‘inqilab march’ to topple the government to bring change to country. Apparently all the political leaders are at a point of no return on their stands on the political issues causing uncertainty among the masses.
Government has asked Supreme Court to form a Judicial Commission to investigate the fraudulent activities during the elections 2013 in the light of Imran Khan’s allegations.
Imran Khan on the other hand is not willing to accept any thing less than the resignation of Nawaz Sharif and formation of care taker government to conduct new elections.
