Azadi march starts from Lahore towards Islamabad

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has started the azadi march from Lahore towards Islamabad to protest the rigging in Islamabad and topple the government of Nawaz Sharif at 12:30PM on August 14, 2014.  Imran Khan is leading the azadi march after holding special prayers at his residence in Zaman Park, Lahore. Punjab government has decided to provide safe passage to azadi march.

PTI Chairman Imran Khan along with other leaders and a large number of party supporters is now moving towards Islamabad on a very hot a humid day in Lahore. 

Imran Khan has asked masses to participate in the azadi march from all parts of the country.

Imran Khan said, “Freedom can only be won thru struggle, it is not handed on a platter. Today is decisive to liberate ourselves.”

PTI chairman further said, “Today will be the beginning of the end of despots & monarchs, InshaAllah. True democracy means true freedom.”

Imran Khan first announced azadi march to protest rigging in the elections 2013. However, now he is demanding resignation of Nawaz Sharif, formation of caretaker government and new elections.
