Dr. Qadri leads inqelab march towards Islamabad
Thursday, August 14th, 2014 4:03:28 by Shakira SubhaniDr. Tahirul Qadri has kicked off the inqelab march from his residence in Model Town Lahore towards the Pakistan capital Islamabad on August 14, 2014. Dr. Qadri told reporters that his march is to restore true democratic system in the country and the basic human rights.
“The Inqelab March is leaving Model Town for Islamabad. I want to wish the country a happy Independence Day”, Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) leader told reporters. “The revolution march will give the constitutional and democratic rights to the oppressed of this country.”
Dr. Qadri said that his march will provide the people of Pakistan basic human rights and restore democracy in the country. He further said that there is no space for martial law in Pakistan.
Punjab government had earlier allowed Dr. Tahirul Qadri to start the march after agreeing to certain conditions.
Governor of Punjab Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar said that he believed that Dr. Tahirul Qadri is a peaceful person and would not harm the lives of the protesters.
Dr. Qadri had dennied that government allowed his party to start inqelab march. Dr. Qadri told Geo News that his workers forcefully removed the blockade and started the march.
