PAT had filed a petition in the court to instruct police to register a murder case against the Prime Minister, Chief Minister and others after violent clashes between the PAT workers and police on June 17, 2014 outside the residence of Dr. Tahirul Qadri.
In the tragic incident, at least 11 people including PAT workers were killed and 100 injured as the result of police firing on the protesters who were resisting removal of security barriers outside the residence of PAT leader.
A judicial commission formed to investigate the tragedy has submitted its report to the Punjab government, however, it is not made public yet. The sources say that commission has put the blame of the tragedy on police.
