Friday, August 29th, 2014 7:07:48 by Nadeem BajwaDirector General Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) has said on twitter on Friday August 29, 2014 that during the meeting between Prime Minister and Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif in Islamabad, government asked CAOS to play facilitative role in the current political crisis.
DG ISPR said on twitter, “COAS was asked by the Govt to play facilitative role for resolution of current impasse, in yesterday’s meeting, at #PM House.”
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had earlier said in the Parliament House that he was informed that Imran Khan and Dr Tahirul Qadri wanted to see CAOS and he gave the permission to CAOS for the meetings.
Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar told the members of Parliament, “Let me make clear that this step was taken on a request by the protesting parties, the government allowed this facilitation, it should not be interpreted beyond that.”
Imran Khan and Dr Tahirul Qadri had denied requesting CAOS for facilitation in the political deadlock.
