Chinese president’s visit to Pakistan cancelled

Chinese president is also visiting Indian and Sri Lanka later this month. Analysts consider the cancellation of the visit as a major setback for Pakistan.
It has been reported in some newspapers that Chinese President Xi Jinping have decided to cancel his trip to Pakistan due to security challenges caused by protests by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) in Islamabad.
The officials from both countries met on Thursday to discuss the situation and decided to cancel the visit.
President Xi Jinping was expected to sign a number of memos of understandings regarding investment in some mega projects in Pakistan.
Imran Khan and Tahirul Qadri have said that they will not try to disrupt the Chinese president’s visit, however, they knew those assurances had not value what soever.
