Dubai Military Official Warns of a “Clash of Civilizations” If Trump Is Elected To The White House
Monday, March 14th, 2016 8:48:00 by modousarrLt Gen Dhai Khalfan Tamim, deputy chairman of police and general security in Dubai UAE warned of a clash of civilizations if Donald Trump U.S.( real estate mogul and presidential hopeful) becomes president.
In a republican debate on Thursday night, Trump refused to recant a statement saying that “Islam Hates the West” which he made after calling for a ban on Muslims entering the United States.
He referred to his statement as “politically correct” and said he wouldn’t stop making comments such as these.
Lt. Gen. Dhahi Khalfan Tamim responded to Trump’s comments on Twitter. Referring to Political Science Philosopher Samuel P. Huntington’s theory that future wars would be fought between cultures, the General predicted that if Trump was to win the race for the White House, Huntington’s theory will be vindicated as Trump will face off with the Islamic State group and its leader Abu Bakr al- Baghadi he wrote.
It is a fact that the republican front runner has tried to do business in the Middle East for years. There are three high profile projects using his name for branding purposes in Dubai, these are two golf courses and a real estate development. It is also known that he has been trying to expand his hotel chain into the region.
It was foreseeable that his comments would affect his interests in the middle east. A Dubai based landmark group has pulled Trump home décor products off 180 lifestyle retail outlets in the middle-east saying it was out of consideration and respect for the “values and sentiments of it customers”.
