Trump’s campaign manager arrested for Misdemeanour
Friday, April 1st, 2016 9:00:30 by modousarrOn Tuesday, Donald Trump’s campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski got arrested by Police for grabbing and yanking a reporter hand as she tried to ask the presidential campaign a question.
A Statement issued by the police said that Mr Lewandowski was charged with misdemeanour battery in correlation with an episode with him grabbing and tugging the arm of Michelle Fields, then a reporter for the conservative Breitbart News website as she attempted to ask the Republican presidential front-runner a question on March 8 at a News conference.
The Trump campaign issued a statement of their own denying the arrested which various media outlets countered by posting a copy of the original police report.
The campaign statement also said, “Mr Lewandowski is absolutely innocent of this charge. He will enter a plea of not guilty and looks forward to his day in court. He is completely confident that he will be exonerated.”
Despite the evidence from security videos showing the alleged battery, the Trump campaign has relentlessly denied that Mr Lewandowski even “touched” Ms Fields,
A reporter from the Washington post, Ben Terris, who was also present at the March 8 news conference, said he had witnessed the alleged battery. “I watched as a man with short-cropped hair and a suit grabbed her arm and yanked her out of the way. He was Corey Lewandowski, Trump’s 41-year-old campaign manager,” Mr Terris wrote. “Fields stumbled. Finger-shaped bruises formed on her arm.”
