NAB officer suspended over Salon attack
Monday, April 11th, 2016 12:52:36 by fatimaarshadA National Accountability Bureau (NAB) officer by the name of Mir Ausaf Ali Talpur, has been suspended from his duties after him and his wife were booked by police for assaulting a Karachi beauty salon’s owner and staff. Talpur and his wife allegedly stormed into a beauty salon, ransacked the entire place and assaulted the salon’s staff and owner over a trivial issue.
It has been reported that Talpur has been suspended from his duties till the time NAB completes its internal inquiry. If he is found guilty of the charges against him, he can also be dismissed from his duties.
According to the details provided, Talpur’s wife, Hina Khan, was getting services from a salon at Gulistan-e-Jauhar on Tuesday, when she misplaced her gold chain and later alleged that someone from the salon had stolen it. In a video which seems to have been made from a mobile camera, Hina Khan can be seen shouting at the owner of the salon, Haya Khan, and threatening her that if the chain is not found, it will ‘cost her dearly’ and that she does not know ‘who she is’.
After Hina Khan left, four men in plain clothes stormed into the salon, hit the guard outside, and barged into every room without seeking permission from the owner. Haya said that she tried to lodge a complaint against the NAB officer and his wife, but the SHO refused. In fact, she was forced to sign a settlement with the accused and was warned that if she took the matter to court, she will be imprisoned along with her staff. However, after raising the case with concerned authorities and creating a public outcry, the case was finally registered and now investigations are also underway.
