Legendary pop star Prince dies at the age of 57

The world of music suffers another loss as famous pop star Prince, passed away at the age of 57. Prince was known for his hit tracks some of which include, ‘Purple Rain’, ‘Raspberry Beret’ and ‘Kiss’.

According to the details provided, Prince was found unresponsive at his Minnesota home on Thursday and he was later pronounced dead at the hospital. The celebrity’s publicist, Anna Meacham released the following statement;
“It is with profound sadness that I am confirming that the legendary, iconic performer, Prince Rogers Nelson has died.”

So far, a cause of death has not been reported and the local medical examiner declined to make any comment.

Prince, whose full name Prince Rogers Nelson, was born on June 7, 1958 in Minneapolis. He was currently living in his home in Paisley Park, in the Minneapolis suburb of Chanhassen.

Prince wrote his first song when he was just 7-years-old. He had a love for music from a very young age. The artist first made waves in late 1970s and since then he came to be known as a very inventive and eccentric musician in the American music world. He sold more than 100 million records during his career and his latest album was released just last year in December.

Prince was touring as recently as last week and according to some reports, his health was suffering. However, it is still not known what eventually became the cause of his death.
