‘Most Wanted’ Hitman Linked To MQM Arrested By Rangers
Wednesday, April 27th, 2016 8:59:25 by modousarrA search operation in Karachi’s Azizabad by the Pakistan Rangers Sindh on Tuesday led to the arrest of a target killer with supposed links to the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM).
Rangers official, Colonel Faisal, confirmed to the media that, “Mohammad Kashif alias David, who belongs to the MQM, is a most wanted criminal in multiple targeted killing and terrorism incidents.”
The official claims that the operation was executed on a clue given near MQM’s Nine Zero Headquarters.
Several houses were searched and numerous weapons and ammunitions were found, including Kalashnikovs, light machine guns (LMGs) and Rocket Propelled Grenade (RPG-7), and Rangers uniforms were discovered during the operation.
The captured suspect was relocated to an unknown location for interrogation.
Army chief General Raheel Sharif, earlier this month, at a meeting in the Karachi Corps Headquarters labeled peace in Karachi as the “ultimate aim” of the operation, that was launched more than two years ago.
Due to the Rangers-led operation, the MQM has gained notoriety. In March 2015, several MQM workers were held by Rangers officials, including senior members such as Amir Khan, in a pre-dawn raid on the party’s headquarters.
A protest by party activists ensued and the raid seemed to have a great importance in the Karachi operation that commenced since October 2013.
Rangers & WhatsApp
A WhatsApp helpline permitting the Karachi people to send text, videos and pictures in relation to criminal or illegal activity to the armed forces was announced by the Pakistan Rangers of Sindh.
A video message posted on their Facebook page by the paramilitary begged citizens to relay information on terrorism, extortion and any form of illegal or suspicious activity to their WhatsApp number 0316-2369996 or email them at rangers.madadgar@gmail.com. The force expounded on the need for people’s support as that was the only way to prevent such activities in the city through their telephone helpline 1101.
