PCB accepts Younis Khan’s apology
Thursday, April 28th, 2016 11:49:32 by fatimaarshadThe Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) accepted Younis Khan’s apology over his behavior during Pakistan Cup tournament which is being played in Faisalabad.
After acceptance of the apology, Younis Khan can rejoin the ongoing matches and if his team, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa makes it to the finals, he will play in that match.
A press release by the PCB stated; “In his response to the show cause notice, Younis has expressed regret over his conduct and has duly apologized.”
PCB Chairman Shahryar Khan also said during a press conference that Khan’s apology has been accepted. “While this incident is unfortunate, I am glad to note that Younis has admitted his mistake,” he added.
A show cause notice and deadline of seven days was issued to Younis Khan after the star cricketer questioned the umpiring decision during his team’s match in the tournament. The match referee, fined Khan 50 percent of the match fee and asked him to show up for explanation.
However, Khan did not appear in front of the referee and even left the tournament. After the show cause notice was issued to the cricketer, he called up the chairman of PCB Shahryar Khan to apologize. Initially Khan’s apology was not accepted and Shahryar Khan said that no leniency will be showed to crickets for misconduct.
Meanwhile crickets Ahmed Shahzad and Umar Akmal have also come under fire for different incidents related to misconduct. Investigations are underway to find out the extent and nature of their misconduct.
