Prince’s bodyguard speaks out about his former employer
Tuesday, May 17th, 2016 10:18:19 by fatimaarshadLegendary pop star, Prince passed away earlier this month and now the person who remained closest to him for the past few years, has spoken out. Prince’s bodyguard, who had been with the star since 2012, recently spoke to reporters and dispelled some of the rumors surrounding the singer’s death.
The bodyguard, Chris Gaither, was one of the few hundred people, who attended an invite-only memorial for Prince which was recently held at Jehovah’s Witness Kingdom Hall in Minnesota. After the service ended, Gaither shared his memories of his former employee and said that he feel infuriated about what rumors are circulating about his death.
A few days before Prince died, an emergency landing had to be made in Moline, Illinois, due to his ill-health. Some sources revealed that at that time, Prince was treated for a possible overdose.
Law enforcement sources also told some media outlets that opioid painkillers had been found on Prince’s body and in his home when he was found unresponsive in an elevator at his Paisley Park complex on April 21, in Chanhassen, Minnesota.
Despite these reports, Gaither said that during his time with Prince, he had never seen the singer abusing any drugs or painkillers even once.
“I packed this man’s bag on the daily. I have been on tour with him for months. So if anybody had an addiction that would be something you would see. That would be something that you would know,” he said.
The toxicology and post-mortem reports of the singer are being kept confidential at the moment and till the time they are made public, nothing can be said for sure.
