Sharif To PTI: No KP In 2018
Wednesday, May 18th, 2016 6:21:16 by modousarrA day after he refused to impress opponents in parliament, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif maintained his party’s streak of vengeance against his opposition at the groundbreaking of the Dera Ismail Khan-Hakla Motorway, on Tuesday.
Although he claimed that he would “not discuss his political opponents”, the PM launched into another verbal expose against the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI). He mentioned the party’s previous loss in the Peshawar PK-8 by-polls stating that the PTI candidate came third in the polls because “the people of Peshawar have realised there is no Naya Pakistan coming up.”
Addressing the PTI, he said “Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) is slipping from your hands. You will not even have KP in 2018, much less Pakistan.”
Sharif conducted the groundbreaking ceremony of a gas pipeline and the DI Khan-Hakla Motorway, which is 285-kilometre-long and a part of the western leg of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
The projected is expected to be completed in two years, costing more than Rs142 billion. Commencing at DI Khan, the route will connect with Mughalkot in Balochistan.
The motorway will be constructed in five stages and passes through Pindi Gheb, Sawan, Mianwali, Rokhri, Rehmani Khei and will end at Yarik (DI Khan). Tuesday marked the inauguration of the four-lane 55km Yarik-Rehmani Khel stretch of the motorway, costing approximately Rs2 billion.
PM Sharif provided a fund of Rs500 million for development projects in DI Khan, including an international airport and agriculture university.
“Civil Aviation Authority and Pakistan International Airways have been directed to provide facilities to accommodate ATR planes so that international travel is more convenient.”
A different fund for the gas pipeline of Rs770 million has been allocated.
