Private school in Lahore vandalized by protestors after teacher rapes student

According to the details provided of the case, a teacher at the Baggrian Chowk school, molested an eight-year-old boy and later fled from the scene. When the parents of the boy found out, they rushed to the school but when they found their boy missing, they made a hue and cry. The parents of the boy called others for help.
The local residents of the Green town area, where the school is located in Lahore, pelted the building with stones and broke its doors and windows as a form of protest over the alleged assault.
Police was called to the site of the disturbance, but as police vans arrived, the people were already charged up and they attacked the school. The protestors also beat up the security guard and chanted slogans against the school teacher and the management of the school.
When the police tried to control the charged crowd, things got worse and a small battle ensued between both sides. The residents pelted the police officers with stones, whereas the police retaliated by charging them with batons and sticks.
The situation worsened over the next few hours, as protestors tried to set the school on fire. At this time, senior police officers were also called to the scene. Things eventually improved after a few hours of negotiation, once the residents were assured that the culprit will be dealt with justly.
It has been learnt that the suspected school teacher has been taken into custody.
