Johnny Depp and Amber Heard part ways after 15 months of marriage

Film stars Johnny Depp and Amber Heard have decided to end their marriage according to the latest reports. The couple got married last year in February and after just fifteen months of staying together, they called it quits.

According to the reports, it was Amber Heard who filed for divorce in Los Angeles Superior Court and the reason for the divorce is cited as ‘irreconcilable differences’. The couple don’t have any children together but it was learnt that Heard did file for spousal support.

Depp 52, and Heard 30, met while on the sets of their movie, ‘The Rum Diary’ which was released in 2011. The couple got married after Depp split with his long-time partner, French actress Vanessa Paradis with whom he even has two teenage children, a boy and a girl.

Heard and Depp made headlines last year for illegally taking two Yorkshire Terriers to Australia, where Depp was filming for his movie ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’, as that breed of dogs is prohibited in Australia. Heard was charged with two counts of illegally importing the pets and one count of producing false documents.

The couple later apologized for defying the laws of the country and also released a video apology.

The actors’ divorce comes just days after Depp’s mother passed away, so he was already going through a hard time. Depp’s new movie, ‘Alice Through the Looking Glass’ is also due to be released this Friday.
