Abdullah was brought to the Edhi Center by a man named Rizwan, who just left the kid there and disappeared. A social media campaign was launched in which Abdullah’s picture was circulated over the internet and his family was urged to come forward to claim the boy since he was constantly asking for his mother.
According to the recent reports, Abdullah’s maternal grandmother has come forward and will be taking the boy home soon. She belongs to Mansehra, and has already left for Karachi to claim the boy.
So far it has been learnt that Abdullah’s mother, Haleema, was killed by someone in their apartment in Delhi Colony. Her body was discovered only after neighbors complained of stench coming from her home.
It was learnt that Haleema, Abdullah’s father and Abdullah had left for Multan to seek treatment for Abdullah’s ailing father. However, he died due to cardiac arrest and Haleema and Abdullah came back to Karachi.
Meanwhile Haleema and a man named Rizwan, apparently became friends and some sources claim, that Rizwan had gotten Haleema the apartment in Delhi colony where she was staying.
Now Rizwan is the prime suspect in Haleema’s death, but so far he is nowhere to be found. The number which he left with Edhi center is also switched off. The police are still on the lookout for Rizwan, and they have urged the citizens to help them locate him.
