Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif discharged from hospital after open heart surgery

Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has been discharged from a hospital in Central London on Monday, where he underwent an open heart surgery on May 31, 2016.

According to the details provided, Nawaz Sharif’s wife, Begum Kulsoom Nawaz and his two sons, Hasan Nawaz and Hussain Nawaz also accompanied the premier on his way to his apartment which is located in London. A small crowd was gathered outside the hospital to catch a glimpse of the prime minister.

Nawaz Sharif lightly waved at the crowd while he was being transferred home, but he did not speak to any of the reporters.

The premier’s son, Hussain Nawaz talked to media representatives and told them that Irfan Siddique and Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif met with the PM today. He added that his father was doing well and had even started eating and drinking. Hussain further added that his father is being very careful and is following all of the doctors’ orders. He even walks after every hours as this is what his doctor instructed him to do.

“Nawaz Sharif’s blood test results are also coming positive,” he said. “Several medicines that had been provided to him after his operation, have also been stopped.”

According to the doctors’ orders, the prime minister is supposed to rest for one and a half weeks, before he can travel back to Pakistan. In his absence, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar is overseeing matters which require the PM’s input.
