Group Claiming Pakistan ‘Support’ Behind Hacking of Seven Indian Embassy Websites
Friday, June 10th, 2016 6:56:10 by modousarrHackers, on Wednesday, voicing their Pakistan affiliations, marred the websites of seven Indian embassies, high commissions, and consulates in several countries. They also raged pro-Pakistan Army slogans.
Sending an email to journalists, the hackers voiced their attacks against Indian missions in Ankara, Athens and Mexico City
The hackers described themselves as “Romantic” and “Intruder” as they also raided websites with missions in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and Bucharest, Romania as well as Dushanbe, Tajikistan, and South Africa’s Pretoria.
Texts damaging sites of Dushanbe, Ankara and Athens were brief, jolting phrases such as “Don’t Be Panic”, “We Rock and U Shock”, “Pakistan Zindabad”, and “Feel the Power of Pakistan”.
Some of the sites were restored while Athens, Dushanbe, and Ankara remained defaced.
The Indian High Commission representative in Islamabad refused to comment on the issue.
Hacking attacks across borders have been rampant since 1998. The Lahore High Court’s website has been a victim of hacking twice by Indian hackers of recent, while the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Raipur’s website was attacked by Pakistani hackers.
