Nisar takes notice of ‘inappropriate’ attitude of French government over deportee issue
Friday, June 10th, 2016 1:13:56 by fatimaarshadA deportee’s issue has become a bone of contention between the Pakistani and French governments. A man by the name of Muhammad Mansha, living in France for the past several years, has been accused of immoral and criminal activities and now France wants him sent back to Pakistan. On the other hand, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan is not allowing him back until the time his nationality is properly authenticated.
According to reports, the home ministry of France contacted Pakistan’s ambassador to France over Mansha’s deportation and said that if relevant documents were not issued to him in two hours, relations between Pakistan and France would be affected.
The ambassador contacted Nisar and informed him of the situation, upon which the minister took a firm stance and refused to give in to France’s threats. A spokesman for the Interior Ministry said told reporters that Nisar is disappointed with the French government’s attitude and said that it was ‘against diplomatic norms’. He further added that the Pakistani government will take a decision according to the law and without considering any threats.
He said that if the French government wanted to deport Mansha, his documents and details should be sent to Pakistan so that action could be taken according to the law.
The Interior Minister also said that if any attempt was made to violate the Pakistani law, then Mansha would be sent back to France in the same flight in which he was being brought here and that the airline would also be fined.
So far, there hasn’t been any response from the French government on this.
