Two young Pakistanis selected for Queen of England’s ‘Young Leaders Award’
Thursday, June 16th, 2016 12:11:00 by fatimaarshadTwo young Pakistanis are bringing good name to Pakistan as they have been selected for Queen of England’s ‘Young Leaders Award’ which is given to young people who do exceptionally well in any field. The youth, identified as 28-year-old Muhammad Usman Khan and 26-year-old Zainab Bibi have been selected by the Queen for their role in transforming lives of others and making a lasting difference in their communities.
Usman Khan has been recognized for his dedication to help all children receive education, even the underprivileged ones. On the other hand, Zainab Bibi made a mark for herself in the field of renewable energy. Zainab Bibi talked to reporters and told them how she used Bio-Ethanol, a bio fuel from waste tissue papers. In another project, she introduced a plant species called Camelina Sativa from USA to Pakistan and produced bio diesel from that plant. She even introduced that plant to hot climate which will help eradicate poverty from Thar Desert.
Both the participants were selected from a competitive process where thousands of young people from all over the Commonwealth applied to be part of Queen’s Young Leader program.
Regarding being part of such a prestigious program, Usman Khan said; “I am super excited for the Residential Week for the Queen’s Young Leaders Programme. It’s a prestigious opportunity to learn, share and acknowledge being a Queen’s Young Leader.”
“As the time is getting close, my excitement to meet The Queen is sky rocketing. I have no words to explain my feeling, I am anxiously waiting for the best week in my life.”
